Mrs. Carpenter

Hello! My name is Annette Carpenter and I am the Speech-Language Pathologist here at HiRMS.  I also serve the students at Hickory Ridge High so do a good bit of traveling between the two schools.
It's hard to believe, but I have been working in Cabarrus County Schools for over 25 years and have served students all over our fine system....from preschool through high school levels.  Most recently,  I have focused on secondary students and have been the primary SLP here at "The Ridge" since both schools opened.

I work with students who exhibit difficulties in communication skills-sound production (articulation), receptive or expressive language, hearing, voice, and fluency (stuttering).    Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the speech-language program or the services your child might be receiving.

I am a "North Carolina girl" growing up about an hour away between Monroe and Wingate. I attended Forest Hills High School and completed both my undergraduate and graduate studies at the UNC-Greensboro. Go Spartans!

Away from school, you might find me relaxing with a good book surrounded by animals (and maybe my husband.)   I have 2 dogs, 3 cats and lots of fish.  I am the proud parent of two college students and am learning how to enjoy a somewhat "empty nest"!
