Mrs. Heather Phelps - 2nd Grade Teacher

Hello everyone, and welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! I will be your 2nd grade reading teacher, and I am so excited to be working with your family this year. I was born and raised in Monroe, North Carolina but fell in love with Charlotte after moving here for college. I graduated from UNCC with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. This is my fifth year teaching at Rocky River Elementary, and my second year teaching second grade.

I became a teacher to share my love of learning with others. I hold high expectations for each of my students, and I hope to help your child progress towards meeting their goals this year. My husband and I have two puppies that we take with us just about everywhere. When I am not at the school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I love reading, board games and puzzles, fitness, and the outdoors.
