Mrs. Maria Wise

Welcome aboard third graders,

I am so delighted to be your teacher this school year. I can not wait to sail the seas with you this year and enjoy our adventurous journey to Reading. This is my 4th year as a Rocky River Road Runner and I am so proud to call this my school. I am excited about all the learning that we will do together this school year. I will be working very closely with you as your reading instructor. We will integrate  units of social studies with reading to make this a great learning adventure. 

This is my 15th year of teaching elementary students in North Carolina. I am married and have 3 children and two grandchildren. In my leisure time, I enjoy studying, reading, cooking and spending time with family. I love school so much that I promised myself as a kid that I would dedicate the rest of my life to teaching and learning.

I have a natural love of learning and consider myself a life-long learner.I completed my undergraduate studies at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and received a Master's of Art in Teaching from Queens University of Charlotte.  This year, I have the opportunity to attend graduate school at Gardner-Webb University. I am pursuing a Master's Degree in Executive Leadership. While the classroom is my first love, it is important to always challenge myself to gain more knowledge. I am a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success.
