Healthy Youth Survey

The Healthy Youth Survey (HYS) is administered by Washington State to students in grades 6, 8, 10, and 12, who participate voluntarily. Answers given by youth are anonymous.The HYS includes questions related to:
- physical activity and diet
- unintentional and intentional injury
- substance use
- risk and protective factors
- access to school-based services
- sexual behaviors
- the Children's Hope Scale
Results may be used to plan programs to support youth and reduce their risks.
