The February 15 Fairport Board of Education meeting will convene at 5:45 p.m. and immediately go into Executive Session, which is closed to the public. The regularly scheduled public Board meeting will begin after Executive Session concludes.

Therapy dogs bring smiles to Fairport High School

Say hello to Joshua, Eddie, Gunner, Murph, and Brody! No, they’re not new students at Fairport High School (FHS)…they’re therapy dogs bringing joy to the halls of FHS. These certified therapy dogs and their talented handlers are part of RocDog, a local non-profit that partners with organizations to provide therapy dog services.

Message from the Superintendent – Mask mandate

January 25, 2022

Dear Fairport Families:

FCSD is aware that a Supreme Court judge on Long Island ruled yesterday that the state’s mask mandate is procedurally flawed. The state appealed the decision last night, and an appeals court judge heard the case this afternoon. A temporary stay of the enforcement of the Nassau County decision has been issued while the appeal is pending.

Message from the Superintendent – Update on Masking

Dear Fairport Families;

The district recently learned of a legal ruling from a lower state court in Nassau County that says the NYS Department of Health exceeded its authority by requiring masks be worn in school settings. This ruling conflicts with an earlier ruling in Albany County Supreme Court that upheld the Department of Health’s masking regulation.
