Fairport student completes Eagle Scout Service Project at Northside

Fairport High School Student Stephen Sampson, a 12th grader, completed his Eagle Scout Service Project by constructing four picnic tables for an outdoor classroom in the Northside Elementary School courtyard. Stephen says the project, from the planning stages to completion, took 170 hours. Stephen says 17 adults and 11 Scouts from his troop and from the school assisted with the picnic table project.

More solid foundations under construction at Fairport High School

Construction crews continue their work at Fairport High School (FHS) as part of the 2019 voter-approved Fairport Forward Capital Improvement Project. Over the past several days, crews with Campus Construction and Labella Associates poured footings for the South courtyard, set wall forms for the North courtyard and installed a new permanent wall in the East hallway.

Progress continues apace at Fairport High School (FHS) as part of the 2019 voter-approved Fairport Forward Capital Improvement Project. Crews with Labella Associates and Campus Construction have completed demolition and excavation of the South courtyard, which will become a classroom. Over the past week, teams built forms to pour new foundation footings.

All students can receive free breakfast and lunch every school day for 2021-22

All Fairport students in grades K-12 can receive one free breakfast and/or one free lunch meal each school day, as part of a waiver extension through June 2022 as part of federal funds. All students opting for a free breakfast and/or lunch must take the required components offered through Food Service.

Demolition work continues in classrooms, courtyards at Fairport High School

There are more big changes underway at Fairport High School. Over the past week, crews with Campus Construction and Labella Associates continued to demolish second floor classrooms overlooking the South courtyard. Demolition work also continued on the North courtyard and the cafeteria and kitchen. Meanwhile, the new stadium turf was laid in and crews wrapped up the final grading for the stadium field subbase.

Fairport High School graduate shares vision of the pandemic with portrait collection

Julia Maddalina, a 2014 Fairport High School graduate, is the artist behind Portraits of the Frontline, a series of 100 paintings showing the faces of health care workers.
