Four FHS seniors named National Merit Scholarship semifinalists
Four Fairport High School seniors are being recognized for their academic achievements. Julia Allen, Benjamin Caplan, Madison Jezioro and Jacob Simon have been named 2019 National Merit Scholarship semifinalists.
According to nationalmerit.org, “High school students enter the National Merit Program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT)—which serves as an initial screen of approximately 1.6 million entrants each year—and by meeting published program entry and participation requirements.”
Two Fairport students achieve perfect ACT scores
A perfect composite score on the ACT exam is rare. Less than 0.15% of all test takers achieve the perfect 36. Two Fairport High School students defied the odds and achieved perfection.

The Fairport High School Drama Club will present a third full-scale production – The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time – for the 2017-18 school year on May 24-25, 7:30 p.m. each night, at the Fairport High School auditorium. The production is for audiences over 13 years of age,

In an effort to gather information about high school instruction, Fairport High School is in its first year participating in the High Level Learning Walks, in which teachers visit other high school teacher’s classrooms in Rochester area school districts.

Students & teachers in NASA HUNCH to travel to Houston to present experiments
Eight students, with two teachers, from Fairport High School’s NASA Space Research course will travel to Houston, Texas at the end of April to present their projects to NASA engineers and astronauts as part of their participation in the NASA HUNCH Extreme Science Program.

Fairport’s FIRST® Robotics team advances to World Championship
The Fairport Central School District Red Raider Robotics Team 578 recently competed at the FIRST® (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Finger Lakes Robotics Competition at the Rochester Institute of Technology, placing second and earning the wild card invitation to advance to the World Championship in Detroit later this spring.
