May 11, 2018 K-12 Parent Message:
Good Morning Fairport Families:
As you may be aware from our Fairport High School (FHS) community, FHS administrators and Monroe County Sheriff deputies have been investigating concerns regarding social media reports of a school safety issue at FHS. Since yesterday and through this morning, we have investigated the reports thoroughly with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department and have concluded through multiple interviews with students that all reports are unfounded and there are no specific threats toward individuals and/or the school.
See below to read the messages we sent to FHS parents last night and this morning.
As we have shared with our school community, both the Monroe County Sheriff and the Fairport Police Department have established a consistent presence in all of our schools over the past few months. This collaboration is a part of our larger efforts to ensure safe and productive learning environments for all of our students. This partnership and their presence will continue in all of our schools.
As always, we are committed to ensuring the health, safety and well-being of our students and staff. Our collective efforts in this area are one of the most important strategies to keeping everyone safe each day.
Sincerely,
Brett Provenzano
Superintendent of Schools
