Students at Northside Elementary School are practicing gratitude and the spirit of giving back this week as part of the school’s “Gratitude Week”. The Northside Student Council brainstormed a list of people who students are thankful for and assigned each group a day of the week. During the week, students at lunch are encouraged to write letters to the people in their lives in each group.
Fairport’s ‘Make a Difference’ campaign donates more than $14,000 to Veterans Outreach Center
The Fairport school community is giving back to local veterans this week as part of another successful fundraising effort from the District’s annual Make a Difference (MAD) campaign.
Fairport, in conjunction with Crazy Dog T-Shirts, presented a check totaling $14,160 to Veterans Outreach Center (VOC) of Rochester on November 8.
Dealing with Digital Drama: A Workshop for Parents, Nov. 17
The District’s instructional technology team will be hosting the Dealing with Digital Drama: A Workshop for Parents event on Wednesday, Nov. 17 at Fairport High School Room 512 from 7-8 p.m. for parents of 9-12th graders.

The Fairport Central School District honored its new members of the Education Wall of Distinction at an induction ceremony on Nov. 3 at Fairport High School.
Fairport’s Education Wall of Distinction recognizes individuals in the Fairport school community who have had positive, lasting effects on the educational process of a student or group of students.
Presentation of “Clue” at Fairport High School
The Fairport High School Drama Club invites the community to attend a special presentation of “Clue” this November 4, 5 and 6 at 7:30 p.m. at Fairport High School!
Tickets are on sale for $10 at the door and online here. Seats are general admission and masks are required for attendees.
John Kidd is Fairport’s new Director of Transportation
The Fairport Central School District is pleased to announce John Kidd as the District’s new Director of Transportation, who was Board of Education approved for his new position at the October Board of Education business meeting. He was most recently Head Bus Driver for the department and will now replace Dr.
Interested in joining the FCSD Diversity Council?
The Diversity Council is a collaboration between the Fairport Central School District and parents/community members. It acts as an advisory group to the Superintendent on topics related to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). The Council may address topics such as:
• District policies and procedures
• Systemic movement toward culturally responsive practices in areas such as curriculum,
PCR COVID testing Clinic now open at Minerva DeLand (Mon, Wed & Sat)
The Fairport CSD has obtained several “Point of Care” PCR systems that can provide families with COVID results in 30 minutes. This test will give families the needed results to return to school after students are sent home for a COVID symptom. Our hope is that this opportunity for free and fast PCR testing offers another option for families to get students back to school quickly.

The Fairport Central School District will honor its new members in the Education Wall of Distinction Induction Ceremony, Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. at Fairport High School room 512. The entire community is invited to attend the event (all COVID-19 protocols are in place and masks are required indoors).
