Fairport students in grades K-8 will have access to IXL programming during the summer months this year. IXL supports standards-based learning and can help parents and guardians gain insight into student progress.
Brooks Hill students learn about Agriculture with Adam Bello
Second-graders in Bonnie LaMonaco’s class at Brooks Hill Elementary School were in for a treat this week when they had a visit from County Executive Adam Bello, as part of their participation in Cornell Cooperative Extension of Monroe County’s 4-H Youth Development program.

Fairport’s kindergarten registration begins Feb. 8
Children who will be five years old, on or before Dec. 1, 2022, are eligible to attend kindergarten for the 2022-23 school year at Fairport Central School District. The District is encouraging parents/guardians to register their child during Kindergarten Registration, which begins in February.
Parents will need to register at the school that their child will attend (see below for specific information for each school).
Fairport elementary schools raise $16,046 for Golisano Children’s Hospital
Fairport’s four elementary schools – Brooks Hill, Dudley, Jefferson Avenue and Northside – came together to raise awareness and funds to support Golisano Children’s Hospital in this year’s Fall Crawl on October 22.
This year, students from all four schools collected a total of $16,046.80. Over the past eight years the annual event has raised more than $55,000.
Brooks Hill student’s story comes to life on the page
A Brooks Hill Elementary School student’s extraordinary life story spans years and crosses continents and oceans – and is now available as an illustrated book. Sahar Ghulami came to the United States from Afghanistan when she was six. The Brooks Hill student is now in fifth grade, and she’s ready to tell her story.

Fairport’s School Budget Vote and Board Elections for the 2021-22 school year is being held in person on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Johanna Perrin Gymnasium. Fairport teacher’s photography on display in local magazine
Brooks Hill Teacher Linda Schamberger has been an avid photographer for more than eight years now, with her focus initially on birds and then expanding to landscape, portraiture, astrophotography and night photography.
Recently, she was contacted by the editor of Life in the Finger Lakes asking to use her winter photos with an article about her.

FHS and elementary students virtually ‘buddy up’
Fairport High School (FHS) students are pairing up with elementary students in a remote setting to engage in fun activities and conversations as part of a new volunteer experience that helps to make connections among students.
FHS Assistant Principal LeAnna Watt said that the high school has approximately 70 students who have volunteered their time to meet with students in grades K-5.
