Fairport’s four elementary schools – Brooks Hill, Dudley, Jefferson Avenue and Northside – came together to raise awareness and funds to support Golisano Children’s Hospital in this year’s Fall Crawl on October 22.
This year, students from all four schools collected a total of $16,046.80. Over the past eight years the annual event has raised more than $55,000.
Students collected and donated coins at each of the four schools to raise funds, along with online donations and “Make A Difference” t-shirt sales to benefit the hospital. CrazyDog, the t-shirt manufacturer and partner in the event, donates 100% of the money raised by the t-shirt sales to Golisano Children’s Hospital.
Past Fall Crawl campaigns earned the elementary school community a shout out and thanks in “Strong Kids”, the quarterly newsletter published by Golisano.
“Our top priority is to get our young students to see the positive DIFFERENCE they can have on others around them through simple acts of kindness – kids supporting kids in need,” said Jefferson Avenue Principal Ryan Charno.
Administrators from all four schools, with Superintendent Brett Provenzano and two Jefferson Avenue students, presented the check to representatives from Golisano on Nov. 12 at Jefferson Avenue School.
