Mrs. Amanda Cox

Welcome back students and parents, to our 2021 – 2022 school year!  My name is Mrs. Amanda Cox and I will be teaching English/Language Arts (ELA) and Social Studies to 8^th graders this year.  This is my third year at Concord Middle School.  This is my fourth-year teaching overall, and I spent my first-year teaching English I at Concord High School.

I am originally from Concord, North Carolina and Cabarrus County.  I attended Wolf Meadow Elementary School, JN Fries Middle School, and Jay M. Robinson High School.  I did my undergraduate studies at Appalachian State University and University of North Carolina at Charlotte where I earned my Bachelor of Arts in English with two minors in Children’s Literature and Childhood Studies and American Studies.  I also have a Masters of Education from UNCC.

When I am not in my teacher or student role, I spend time with my husband and our two dogs, Koko, who is a Black Labrador-Australian Shepherd mix, and Dixie, who is a Blue Tick Coonhound.  We like to travel and go camping.   I am also a diehard sports fan.  Go Dodgers, Rams, UCLA, and Lakers!!!

I am excited about this school year and all of the exciting things I have planned for my students.  I am also looking forward to the wonderful experiences everyone will have as you all prepare to transition to high school freshman!  All of us in the Miner family are ready to help each and every one of you succeed this school year!  Do not hesitate to reach out to me if you need something.  My contact information is below.
