Print Resources
- REF 080 – Social Issues series books
- Located on top of the Reference shelves, across from the circulation desk
- Books are arranged alphabetically by series, and then alphabetically by title within each series; titles reflect topic
- Books can be checked out overnight
- You may also make copies of the information needed – don’t forget to copy the title page(s) so you can cite your source; login to the copier using your network username and password
Destiny Quest – Online Library Card Catalog
- Login using your network username and password (tab on upper right side of page)
- Enter subject / topic in “Search” box; click on “Go” twice
- Click on the “Web Site” tab underneath the “Search” box to access credible web resources
- 24/7 remote access
**If accessing databases remotely, from outside of school, you will need to type in the individual username and password for each one, i.e. CQ, Gale, Facts.com, as listed on the Database page.
- CQ Researcher – Current social issues; unbiased factual information (history/chronology, data/statistics, current assessment, etc.)
- Keyword or Advanced searching options
- Keyword Search – results are sorted by relevance, so please be sure to check copyright dates! However, you can re-sort by most recent articles by selecting “Newest” to the right of your search results

The American Citizen Interest Groups in American Politics – Lists links to interest groups and advocacy organizations
- You can also do a Google search to locate special Public Interest Groups – CAUTION: be sure to verify that the web page is the official, legitimate site
- ProCon.org – pros and cons of current controversial issues
- http://www.democrats.org/ – Official website of the Democratic Party
- http://www.gop.com/ – Official website of the Republican Party
- Comprehensive, centralized information on citing sources and parenthetical documentation (citing within your paper) regarding MLA 7, APA, Chicago style, etc.
