Objectives:
- Learn where library web pages are that help guide you through school projects
- Review ways to find a book of interest
- Share a couple of technology options available for creating your Book Trailers
- Introduce Prezi including how to register using school email
How to find a book that interests YOU:
Destiny Quest – Library Catalog (log in if you want to save your search!)
Narrow your search by typing in subject headings of interest (see Fiction Subject Heading list below or on top of Fiction Shelves)
OR
Check out our special collections:
- Teen Bok Festival (books of authors visiting Rochester in May!)
- True Narratives (true stories that read like novels – including memoirs)
- Historical Fiction (fiction books based on historical events – spot the spine labels!)
- Science Fiction & Fantasy (browse shelves to spot special spine labels)
How to plan/organize your “movie” ideas:
- Storyboards – Create a Storyboard
Tools you could use to create your book trailer:
- Windows Movie Maker – Go to Start on computer, then find Windows Movie Maker under programs
- Prezi – Create an account in Prezi using your school email account – your student ID is your password – Learn About School Email Accounts
- Prezi Tutorials (blocked by school’s filter, but feel free to view at home)

Adding Music to your Prezi Presentation
- Save your first picture/slide to your desktop
- Open Windows Movie Maker
- On the left column, click on “Import Picture”
- Find your find your first picture/slide and add it to Windows Movie Maker (it should appear in the larger box titled “Collections”
- Drag your picture to the bottom of the screen and drop it into the “video” row
- Save your music to your desktop (MUST be an mp3 format)
- On the left column, click on “Import Audio or Music”
- Find your music and click on it to add it to Windows Movie Maker (it should appear in the larger box titled “Collections”
- Drag your music to the bottom of the screen and drop it into the “audio/video” row
- Make sure the length of the song and the picture are the same
- Save file to your desktop
- In Prezi, click on “Add File”
- Find your Windows Movie Maker file and add it to Prezi
- Place your file where your first picture/slide would go
