Print Resources:

REF 080 – Social Issues series books

• • Located on top of the Reference shelves, across from the circ desk
  • Books are arranged alphabetically by series, then alphabetically by title within each series (titles reflect topic)
  • Look for titles related to “Education”
  • Books can be checked out overnight
  • You may also make photocopies of the information needed – don’t forget to copy the title page(s) so you can cite your source!  Login to the copier using your network username and password

Destiny Quest: Online Library Card Catalog

• Login using network username and password (tab on upper right side of page)
• Enter topic in “Search” box; click on “Go” twice
• Click on the “Web Site” tab underneath the “Search” box to access credible web resources regarding your topic
• 24/7 remote access

Databases:   (password: FHS Family) **If accessing databases remotely, from outside of school, you will need to type in the individual username and password for each one, i.e. CQ Researcher, Gale, Facts.com, as listed on the Database page.

• CQ Researcher – current social issues; unbiased factual information (history/chronology, data/statistics, current assessment, etc.)
  • Keyword or Advanced searching options
  • Keyword Search – results are sorted by relevance so be sure to check copyright dates!  However, you can re-sort by most recent articles by selecting “Newest” to the right of your search results
  • Can print either the full report OR individual sections of articles

• Gale (GaleNet) – (Scroll down to locate individual databases) Be sure to utilize the following features/options within each database below to help limit your search: Advanced Search, Full Text, Peer-Reviewed, selecting specific types of resources
