Last day of school changed for K-8
For your planning purposes, if no additional emergency closure days are used for the 2017-18 school year:
- the last day of school for students in K-5 will now be Tuesday, June 19 instead of the originally scheduled Thursday, June 21
- the last day of school for students in 6-8 will now be Monday,

The Fairport Central School District will host two upcoming events for the community for the proposed 2018-19 School Budget.
The Public Hearing on Tuesday, May 1 at Fairport High School, room 512 at 6:30 p.m. is an opportunity for the community to learn about the 2018-19 budget development process with the Board of Education and Fairport Central School District administration,
Erin Moretter is named principal at Northside School
The Fairport Central School District has appointed Erin Moretter as the new principal of Northside School. Moretter has been serving as the assistant principal of Northside for the past four years.
Superintendent Brett Provenzano said that students benefit from Moretter’s kindness and enthusiasm, families are reassured by her welcoming presence,

Fairport Central School District planning is underway for the 2018 Homecoming Weekend, September 28. The District’s 4th Annual Raider Nation Homecoming Weekend will celebrate tradition with the Fairport community. More information will be shared as the event gets closer.
Fiscal Update on 2018-19 School Budget
Dear Fairport Community:
Our District’s Board of Education voted to adopt the 2018-19 school budget at a Special Meeting on Tuesday, April 17. The $129,015,913 total budget is a 1.56% increase over the prior year’s budget, and is in compliance with the Property Tax Cap.
Given the District’s declining enrollment,
Fairport hosts teachers from other districts in ‘Learning Walks’
In an effort to gather information about high school instruction, Fairport High School is in its first year participating in the High Level Learning Walks, in which teachers visit other high school teacher’s classrooms in Rochester area school districts.

Sports physicals – offered in June instead of summer
The Fairport Central School District will offer sports physicals in June. There will not be any sports physicals offered by the District in July and August this year. The physicals will be held at Fairport High School on Monday, June 4 and Monday, June 18 from 5:30 p.m.
Fairport to host leading education expert, April 23 at 6:30 p.m. – open to community
The Fairport Central School District will host an evening presentation on “21st Century Learning and Educating the Whole Child” with Dr. Yong Zhao, a leading education expert and Foundation Distinguished Professor in the School of Education at the University of Kansas, Monday, April 23 from 6:30-8 p.m. at Fairport High School room 512.
