The Fairport Central School District Board of Education unanimously passed the Development of Consolidation of Facilities Plan Resolution during its May 28 board meeting. This resolution moves the district forward on a pathway towards a consolidation of Minerva DeLand and Fairport High School in five to seven years.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) presented 51 citizenship candidates originating from 24 countries to the New York Supreme Court at a ceremony at the Minerva DeLand School on April 25. Brooks Hill fifth-grade classes sponsored the event. Students participated in the event, performing in the chorus and reading essays about citizenship.

At the Regular Board of Education meeting on April 23, the Board appointed Douglas W. Lauf to serve as assistant superintendent for human resources beginning July 1, 2019. Lauf will succeed Michael Crumb, who has been serving as the acting assistant superintendent for human resources since January. The search process included invaluable feedback by an interview committee and focus groups.
Fairport High School Principal Robert Clark is pleased to announce Benjamin Caplan as the valedictorian and Alicia Loui as the salutatorian of the Class of 2019. Each will speak at the Class of 2019 Commencement Ceremony on June 27, 2019 at 7 p.m. at the Blue Cross Arena.
