On June 13, 2019, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo signed legislation removing non-medical exemptions from school vaccination requirements for children. There is no longer a religious exemption to the requirement that children are to be vaccinated against measles and other diseases to attend pre-kindergarten through 12th grade in a public, private or parochial setting or to be enrolled in daycare.
Northside School celebrated HEROpalooza, a building-wide field day involving all staff and students on June 14, 2019. Activities included yoga by Butterfly Kids yoga, games and Gaga pit by Camp Arrowhead, Grade 5 talent show, relays, tug of war, field games and a closing celebration and sing along.
Donning their caps and gowns and nametags declaring their post-graduate plans, Fairport High School’s Class of 2019 took a stroll down memory lane by returning to their former schools as part of the school’s first-ever Graduation Walk.

The Fairport High School MasterMinds Team finished second in the Rochester Regional Playoffs. The team went 8-2 in the playoffs, losing only to Brighton (twice). Henry Stringer was named to the All Tournament Team and Henry and Connor Quimby were named League 10 all stars.
MasterMinds is a quiz bowl-style academic competition for high school students.
Fairport High School and the Athletics Department held its annual ‘Red Raider Day’ awards on June 3, 2019 at the Burgundy Basin Inn. Congratulations to all of our student athletes!

The East Rochester CSD School Nutrition Program is once again participating in the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Summer Food Service Program, which provides free meals to all students weekdays during the summer (Monday, July 8 through Friday, Aug. 16). Children do NOT need to be a resident of East Rochester to participate in the program,
Fairport’s boys lacrosse team defeated Hilton, 9-4, to win the Section V Class A title on May 28 at St. John Fisher College. Congratulations, Raiders!
