Fairport High School (FHS) Music Teacher Bill Tiberio has been teaching students of all ages in Fairport for more than three decades. You’ll see him everywhere; from directing the orchestra in the pit for the FHS musicals and giving one-on-one instruction on woodwind instruments to conducting jazz ensembles at FHS and at area colleges.
Student artists and authors at Fairport High School are making up for lost time with the 2019-2021 edition of Dimensions, the school’s Art and Literary magazine. The COVID-19 pandemic prevented the magazine’s publication last school year, so this year’s edition contains pieces of visual art, poetry and prose from the 2019-20 and the 2020-21 school years.
The Fairport High School ‘Hourglass’ yearbook program has been awarded the Jostens 2021 National Yearbook Program of Excellence award. Fairport High School is the only local school to be recognized, and one of only ten schools in New York State to earn the honor.

Fairport’s grade 9-12 “Team 578 Red Raider Robotics” team was honored earlier this month for its creativity and innovation in a year that has presented tremendous challenges. The Robotics team is part of FIRST, an international organization that promotes technology and STEM education.

Fairport’s School Budget Vote and Board Elections for the 2021-22 school year is being held in person on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Johanna Perrin Gymnasium. Fairport High School Assistant Principal LeAnna Watt earned top honors from the School Administrators Association of New York State. Watt was chosen to receive the 2021 Outstanding Educator Award from the organization for her outstanding commitment to Fairport High School’s students and community.

Fairport Senior High School was named one of the top high schools in the nation by the publication, U.S. News & World Report. The publication released its high school rankings last month. Fairport was ranked #1,227 in the nation, placing it in the top 40% of schools identified by the magazine,
A family with deep ties to the Fairport community wants to help celebrate young people who go above and beyond to help others. The family of Eagle Ryan, a 2014 Fairport High School graduate who died in a tragic crash in 2020, plans to award a $1,000 scholarship to a FHS senior in Eagle’s memory at the end of next school year.
Fairport High School student artists were recently celebrated at a special in-person exhibition of their work at Image City Photography Gallery. Photographs by 10 FHS students were selected for the Gallery’s 12th “Through the Student Lens” exhibition, which is dedicated to high school student photographers.
