Fairport High School student artists were recently celebrated at a special in-person exhibition of their work at Image City Photography Gallery. Photographs by 10 FHS students were selected for the Gallery’s 12th “Through the Student Lens” exhibition, which is dedicated to high school student photographers.
“This show is a big deal among Rochester area schools. There aren’t many local opportunities to exhibit our student’s work in professional art galleries. We are so grateful that Image City takes the time to put this show together each year. This show is photography-only which gives us a chance to highlight our talented student photographers,” said Elissa DeChick, Fairport CSD Art Teacher.
A photograph by FHS sophomore Kaden LeChase was selected to be on the exhibition poster. The following students also had work selected for the exhibition: Fardeen Beg, Maya Biedenbach, Riley Bodell, Paige Foster, Collin Granville, Pearson Kent, Henry Maier, Delanie Markle and Joshua Vermeulen. You can see their work here.
“It’s so exciting! This is my first time being in an art show that is not associated with Fairport. I’ve never had an opportunity to exhibit in a gallery before,” said FHS senior Delanie Markle.
“Through the Student Lens” opened on March 23 and runs through April 18 at Image City Photography Gallery on University Avenue in Rochester.
