Experience  This is my first year of teaching! I graduated from Appalachian State University in 2021 with my degree in Middle Grades education. I then completed my masters degree in Professional School Counseling in May 2023. I’m so excited to begin my teaching career at Gamewell Middle.

Favorite Educational Quote and Why  My dad has always told me “it’s all about the journey”. I love this phrase because it reminds me to stay present and try to enjoy each day as it comes. He would encourage me when I made a mistake in school or didn’t get a grade that mistakes are what help us to learn and grow. This always sticks with me as I go through life and think it’s such an important message for students!

Why I Became A Teacher
I am an educator so I can provide students with a safe environment to be themselves and facilitate growth. Middle school was a difficult time for me, as it was for many! I wanted to be able to provide the support for students that I didn’t always get when I was in school. I have also had a passion for science ever since I was a little kid. Teaching was the perfect option to fulfill my passions!

Favorite Places in Caldwell County
I live in Boone NC, so I’m not super familiar with places in Lenoir. I’m super excited to learn all the best spots.

I enjoy activities such as beekeeping, traveling, and spending time with my family and friends.
