This is my 25th year teaching, and my 16th year at Gamewell Middle School. I previously taught for Hickory City Schools and spent a year interning at the Child Study Institute, a juvenile jail in Toledo, Ohio.
Favorite Educational Quote and Why
Children are apt to live up to what you believe in them. - Lady Bird Johnson. This quote is important to me because you have to build up students' confidence. They may have failed or struggled in the past and feel like there is limited hope. I believe in my students and know they can do wonderful things. I want them to believe in themselves.
Why I Became An Educator
 I love working with children and seeing them grow academically and socially. I want them to see what amazing humans they are and what amazing things they can accomplish and are capable of.
Favorite Place in Caldwell
My favorite places to visit in Caldwell County are Blue Moose (one can never have too much coffee), the library (one can never have too many books to read), and Wilson’s Creek (because I love the water).
Activites
Swimming, reading, watching my kids play sports, and family time.
