Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Lawrence

Experience  I graduated from ASU with a Bachelors Degree in Communications. My husband and I moved to Nashville, TN, where I got a job as a Marketing Strategist. Later, after I had my daughter, I decided to stay home and be a full time mom. Several years later, I entered back into the work force as a preschool teacher and then ultimately an EC Instructional Assistant. I was an assistant at GES for seven years, and then moved to GMS as an EC assistant for two years. I became Lead Secretary/Bookkeeper here in April 2022.

Favorite  Quote and Why  My favorite quote is a Bible verse, Isaiah 41:10, which says, "Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." It became my favorite verse after I was diagnosed with breast cancer in Feb. 2016. I was nervous at one appointment, when I was finding out whether or not the cancer had spread. Someone had written this verse on the white board in the room I was assigned to. It immediately reminded me that God had me in His hands and gave me peace. During that appointment, I found out the cancer had not spread, and today I am cancer free. God is good!

Why I Became An Educator My mom was a teacher before she retired, and my sister was (and still is) an EC teacher. Listening to them talk about their jobs and their students caused me to become interested in working in the school system.

Favorite Places in Caldwell County  .One of my favorite places in Caldwell County is the Broyhill Walking Park. It's a beautiful place to walk, and I have lots of happy memories of being there with my family. Another of my favorite places is my church, Lakeview Baptist. The people there are so friendly and encouraging, and I love being a member there!

Favorite Activites I enjoy spending time with my husband and four kids. We like to travel, hike, make S'mores around our fire pit, and have movie nights at home. We love "The Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit" movies, and we have movie marathons with those two movies every year!
