Ms. Davis

Experience  I started my teaching career one year ago here at Gamewell Middle School and am excited to be back for my second year! In 2022 I graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne University with a bachelor’s degree in English Literature and a minor in Creative Writing. Educational instruction has always been a part of my life, as my mother serves as an EC teacher in Burke county.

Favorite Educational Quote and Why  Essayist Ralph Waldo Emerson once said “what lies behind you and what lies in front of you, pales in comparison to what lies inside of you.” This is applicable to the world of education because in my classroom I strive to make every day a fresh start. I believe every student has an infinite amount of potential inside them to be anything they want to be and as long as they are willing to dig deep and work hard, then I will do my best to help them achieve their goals.

Why I Became A Teacher  There are so many things that I could list as my “why,” but I think the truest answer, and possibly the one I least expected, would be my students from last year. They encouraged me to show up every day and give it my best as I navigated my first year teaching, and those now seventh graders impacted my life forever without ever really knowing it. They will always hold a dear place in my heart and seeing them walk past my classroom on the way to their next adventure serves as a constant reminder that they are why I continue to work in education!

Favorite Places in Caldwell County  As a local to the foothills of North Carolina with a love of the outdoors, one of my favorite Caldwell County spots is hiking to Harper Creek Falls!
