Mrs. Lisa Gallagher

Hello to all! My name is Lisa Gallagher, and I am thrilled to be teaching 8th grade ELA at Hickory Ridge Middle School. I have been teaching for 23 years now. I started my teaching career as a 2nd grade teacher in West Virginia. I spent the next 7 years teaching 2nd and 3rd grades. I then moved to Martinsville, Virginia, where I taught 3rd and then 5th grade. My stay in Virginia was short, as life was leading me to the Charlotte area. I got a job teaching middle school in 2010 and I haven't looked back. 

I absolutely love working with middle school students. I am a huge believer in reading every day. My students will have quiet reading time every day. We will be doing a lot of reading this year, along with writing and grammar. Please make sure your student has the following to bring to ELA class every day: binder, paper, pencil, pen, highlighter, colored pencils, composition notebook,  independent reading book. 

I am married to a middle school teacher. He teaches 7th grade math at Harris Road Middle School. We have an amazing little boy named Connor, who is five.
