    Attendance:

    Cabarrus County Schools Attendance Policy

Good attendance is critical for success in school. When a student must miss school, a emailed excuse from a parent or guardian must be presented to the teacher within two school days of the student’s return after an absence. Written excuses submitted beyond two school days will be subject to principal approval. An absence may be excused for the following reasons:

    • illness or injury
    • quarantine
    • death in the immediate family
    • medical or dental appointments
    • court or administrative proceedings
    • religious observance

    Communication:
    - We encourage parents to call if anything at all needs to be discussed. The phone number to reach me is 704-762-1561. Our classroom number also has a voicemail so if you leave a message, I will call you back.

    - You can also contact me through email: amber.johnson@cabarrus.k12.nc.us.

    - Newletters will be sent home to inform parents about our classroom activities, upcoming events and what we are currently learning.

    - Class Dojo is also a form of communication for my classroom.

    Homework:
    - Our school has implemented a learning at home policy. We feel it is important for our families to spend time learning together in different ways. We encourage you to use various technology resources from our school website, our class webpage, or a list that will be posted in Canvas.  In addition, your child is required to read for at least 30 minutes every night, and have their Reading Log signed by a parent or guardian.
    - If you would like other activities or assignments sent home, please let me know!

Thank you so much for everything you do at home for your child! I know we are going to
have an enjoyable and successful year!
