Every year the Bremerton School District must apply for Federal Impact Aid funds from the U.S. Department of Education. These funds compensate the District for the loss of local tax dollars from tax exempt federal property in the Bremerton area. The Bremerton School District receives approximately $300,000 in Impact Aid funding each year.

These federal funds are used for basic education programs districtwide that benefit all of our students.  It is critical that we receive this completed form information for every student in the District .

On October 16, families will receive an invitation via email to complete an online "Impact Aid" survey in Skyward.  It is important to complete all appropriate sections and electronically sign and date the form. Each electronic survey will list all of the siblings but a separate survey is required for each student, so parents will need to complete the survey for each student enrolled in the District.

To access the survey, log-into Skyward Family Access and:  

1. Look for a message in your Skyward Family Access message center (“An online form is now available to fill out”) OR

2. Click on the “Online Forms” link on the left side of the page. Click on the 23-24 Impact Aid Survey “Fill Out Form” link under your student’s name.

The school district only reports the number of students living with families who live on and/or work on federal property. We do not report information about individual students in the Federal Impact Aid form.

Include your actual work location (building and address) as of October 16, 2023 only if you are a federal employee, contractor or work for private business located on Federal/Tribal property.  These records are kept strictly confidential and only used to apply for Federal Impact Aid. Please complete this important online process by November 1, 2023.
