District Receives Safety Award
The Utica National Insurance Group has awarded the Baldwinsville Central School District the 2019 School Safety Excellence Award at the Titanium with Honors level, in recognition of the district’s efforts to provide its students, staff and visitors with a safe environment. The district received $500 to use to further its safety efforts.
Baker Student Qualifies to Apply for National Hispanic Recognition Program
Kimberly Rivera Cotto, a junior at Baker High School, has qualified to apply for The National Hispanic Recognition Program (NHRP) of the College Board by scoring in the top 2.5% on the PSAT/NMSQT among all Hispanic and Latino test takers in the Middle States region. NHRP recognizes approximately 7,000 Hispanic/Latino juniors each year. Those accepted into the program receive an academic honor that can be included on college applications. |

Congratulations to our varsity winter teams that qualified for the NYSPHSAA Scholar Athlete Team Award. To qualify, 75% of the team's roster must have a GPA of 90% or higher. The following teams have qualified:

Board of Education Update
March 18, 2019
The Board honored several students and a teacher with the Board of Education Spotlight.
Board members reported on meetings and events they attended, and the student representative gave a report on activities at the high school.
The Board approved the consent agenda and reviewed the instructional and technology budgets.
Administrators gave an update on the district's Response to Intervention Plan.
The Board heard three trip requests, then approved the following: five-year agreement with OCM BOCES for data communication services at the new transportation center; copier lease agreement with OCM BOCES; and trade contracts for remodeling of the Baker kitchen.
