‘PETE THE CAT’ AUTHOR VISITS ELEMENTARY SCHOOLSThe audience knew the words to the songs, they screamed, they cheered and they sang along. No, it wasn’t a rock concert, but it sure felt like one. Eric Litwin, the author of the “Pete the Cat” series, is making his way around Baldwinsville this week and performing at each of the elementary schools. He visited McNamara Elementary School Thursday afternoon. The students danced, sang and did a lot of laughing. BOARD OF EDUCATION SPOTLIGHT: TEACHERS HONORED FOR PARTICIPATION IN LEADERSHIP FELLOWS PROGRAMThe Baldwinsville Central School District Board of Education honored two teachers recently for their participation in the Leadership Fellows Program at Syracuse University. Mindy Howard, a Palmer Elementary School teacher, and Joelle Fiorini, a Ray Middle School teacher, are the first two teachers in the district to participate in the leadership program. BAKER, DURGEE STUDENTS EARN CNY SCHOLASTIC ART AWARDSTwenty-six C.W. Baker High School students and one Durgee Junior High School student earned CNY Scholastic Art Awards, the Baker Art Department recently announced. Combined the students earned 51 Gold Key, Silver Key and Honorable Mentions in photography, sculpture, and drawing and painting. See list of winners and read more... BAKER STUDENTS PERFORMED AT 2020 SENIOR HIGH ALL-COUNTY MUSIC FESTIVALThirty-seven C.W. Baker High School students were selected to perform at the 2020 Senior High All-County Music Festival for band, orchestra and chorus. The festival was held Jan. 10 and 11 at West Genesee High School in Camillus. The Onondaga County Music Educators Association sponsors the festival. See list of students honored and read more...
