Roosevelt Middle School
Virtual Video Game Design and Programming
2023-2024
I teach Virtual Video Game Design and Programming at Roosevelt Middle School. This includes
Building 3D and 2D Games
Building Virtual and Augmented Games( Using Oculus 2 Headsets)
Publishing our Video Games Online and Building Our Students' Online Portfolios
I have been teaching my program at Roosevelt Middle School for 15 years. I have a MBA from USC in finance and statistics, and I ran my own company for 18 years selling 3D animation software and systems to the top studios in Southern California ( Walt Disney, Blizzard, Sony, etc).
Video Games and Virtual Reality are a 300 billion dollar market, and one of the fastest growing industries in the world today. We use Unity software, which is the same software that the video game companies and studios use. And it is free to download for all students to use at home.
The students will be publishing their games online on their own webpage, and building their own portfolios on their Google Drive. Our goal is to get my students to challenge themselves and to start on a path to a successful career.
I believe that every child should have the chance to succeed, and I run my classroom to try and ensure this. I use the latest technology for my lessons, including YouTube videos, websites, etc. I also make sure that every student has a chance to work through problems during class and ask any questions they may have. I am always available via email and encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or need a status.
