Promotion Requirements

A student must earn at least 100 credits in order to qualify for promotion from middle school in Glendale Unified School District.
For 7th and 8th Grade- There is a potential of earning 140 credits in middle school.
A student earns 5 credits for each class they pass (Grade D or better) each semester. - Students must be enrolled in a minimum of seven periods each semester which will include Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, History, Physical Education, and an elective or reading courseSeven classes at 5 credits per semester equals 35 credits.
- 35 credits for the 4 semesters of middle school equals 140 credits.
Promotion Requirements
To promote an eighth grade student must have:- Earned 100 credits
- To receive Gold you will need a cumulative GPA of 3.8 - 4.0 and 3.5 - 3.79 for Silver.
- No more than four "U's" in Citizenship, in the eighth grade
- No more than 2"U's" and 2"F's" in the Spring Semester of the eighth grade year in Citizenship
Summer School
