Fairport Central School District is updating attendance procedures districtwide to reinforce student safety.
FCSD piloted automated attendance calls through the district’s SchoolMessenger mass notification system last year at several schools. After a successful trial, this notification procedure will be implemented districtwide by mid October. The system automatically phones parents/guardians of students who are marked absent from school.
The Fairport Central School District has appointed Jeremy Slack as the new assistant principal of Northside School, effective July 1. He replaces Erin Moretter, who will become the school’s new principal on July 1.
Superintendent Brett Provenzano said that Slack will be a terrific addition to the administrative team at Fairport.
The Fairport Central School District will begin piloting automated attendance calls through its SchoolMessenger mass notification system for three of its schools, including Dudley, Johanna Perrin and Martha Brown, beginning the week of May 21. The Fairport Central School District has appointed Erin Moretter as the new principal of Northside School. Moretter has been serving as the assistant principal of Northside for the past four years.

The Fairport Central School District will offer sports physicals in June. There will not be any sports physicals offered by the District in July and August this year. The physicals will be held at Fairport High School on Monday, June 4 and Monday, June 18 from 5:30 p.m.
The Fairport Central School District will begin the administration of the New York State Grades 3 through 8 English Language Arts (ELA), mathematics, and science assessments this spring. Artwork from many students in the Fairport Central School District is now featured in the Start Here Middle School High School Exhibition at Rochester Institute of Technology’ s Bevier Gallery, which began on Jan. 26 with an awards ceremony and opening reception. The artwork will be on display at the gallery through Feb.
