FCSD will be closed Jan. 31, budget meeting canceled
Fairport Central School District will be closed Thursday, Jan. 31 due to winter weather conditions. This includes all extracurricular activities.
In addition, the Learning Links will be closed Wednesday evening and all day Thursday.
UPDATE: The community budget meeting originally scheduled for this evening is canceled due to weather conditions.
PM activities canceled for Jan. 30
All Fairport CSD afternoon activities are canceled for Jan. 30. All students will be bused home today. No students are to walk home in the winter weather. Alternatively, parents may pick up students from their schools.
Keeping students safe during winter weather
Weather in the Rochester area is unpredictable and, at times, extreme. The decision to close schools based on forecast weather is not an easy one, as the district’s commitment to educate students comes second only to keeping students and staff safe.
Low temperatures and deep wind chills are forecast for the region in the coming days.
Kindergarten registration begins Feb. 4
Children who will be 5 years old, on or before Dec. 1, 2019, are eligible to attend kindergarten for the 2019-20 school year at Fairport Central School District. The district is encouraging parents to register their children during the week of Feb. 3.

Community Group Budget Meeting canceled
UPDATE ON JAN. 31: The Community Group Budget Meeting is canceled due to weather conditions.
Fairport community members have opportunities to provide input on the upcoming 2019-20 budget development process. Residents are encouraged to attend the the Community Group Budget Meeting on Thursday, Jan. 31 at 7 p.m.
All activities, events after 2 p.m. Saturday canceled; District to reopen Tuesday, Jan. 22
Due to the winter weather forecast, all school activities and events scheduled to begin after 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19 have been canceled. All activities and events will also be canceled through the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday on Monday. The district anticipates reopening for school and activities as scheduled on Tuesday,
Whole Child Community Conversation keynote address
Dr. Robert Dillon, educator and author, provided the keynote address at the Whole Child Community Conversation on Nov. 29.
