Dear Families:
Our priority remains the health and safety of our children and our staff. As I have shared, we will be opening schools this fall using guidance provided by New York State (NYS) officials and grounded in research and best health and safety practices.
Fairport Education Wall of Distinction Announces 2020 Inductees
The Fairport Education Wall of Distinction Committee is pleased to announce the 2020 inductees:

• Rich Greene- Principal (recently retired)
• Kate Kar- English Teacher
• John Kidd- Head Bus Driver

Special Board Workshop on Monday, July 20; Streamed LIVE at 5 p.m.
The Board of Education will hold a special Board Workshop on Monday, July 20, 2020, beginning at 5 p.m. The meeting will be streamed live on YouTube.
During the Workshop, the Board will review progress on the 2019 voter-approved Capital Improvement Project, Fairport Forward. The Board will discuss the impact of the current health environment that should be considered as the capital project evolves. Read more »

This past week Governor Cuomo announced his timeline for reopening schools.
Code of Conduct – under 30-day review & accepting comments
The Fairport Central School District’s Code of Conduct is currently under a 30-day review. Comments may be sent to the District Clerk by emailing tbuffa@fairport.org.
The Public Hearing for the Code of Conduct will take place at the Board of Education Workshop on Monday, August 10,
Three Board of Education members sworn in, officers elected
At the Board of Education’s reorganizational meeting on July 7, incumbents Margaret Cardona and Joyce Kostyk and newly elected board member Erica Belois Pacer were sworn in to three-year terms. Peter Forsgren was re-elected president and Timothy Slisz was elected vice president.

Message from Board President & Superintendent on Discrimination, Bias and Racism
Dear Fairport Community:
Discrimination, bias and racism are underlying threads that are an ugly part of our country’s history. These issues plague our nation and even our own community as we learned early this morning. Sadly, we know that discriminatory acts occur far too often for our families of color.
Sarah Klosner appointed assistant principal of Dudley School
The Fairport Central School District is pleased to announce Sarah Klosner as the new assistant principal of Dudley School. She is currently the lead teacher of Dudley School. Klosner was appointed by the Board of Education at its June 23 meeting.

Food & meals during the summer months
The last day of school meals in Fairport will be Tuesday, June 30. To support Fairport residents in need of food during the summer months, the District is partnering with the Perinton Food Shelf and the East Rochester Union Free School District.
Perinton Food Shelf is available for Fairport residents in need of emergency food supplies.
