Our District’s Board of Education voted to adopt the 2018-19 school budget at a Special Meeting on Tuesday, April 17. The $129,015,913 total budget is a 1.56% increase over the prior year’s budget, and is in compliance with the Property Tax Cap.
Given the District’s declining enrollment,
The Fairport Central School District will host upcoming events for the community about the 2018-19 Proposed School Budget.
A Special Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, April 17 will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Fairport High School, room 512, and will include a final discussion and board adoption of the 2018-19 school budget.
Residents who are unable to vote on the school budget and Board of Education candidates on May 15 because of disability, illness or travel may apply for an absentee ballot by completing the application and returning it to Fairport Central School District, Office of the District Clerk,

Similar to last year, during the 2018-19 budget process we have been reviewing programming options and assessing our staffing needs as we face another challenging budget season. At last night’s Board of Education meeting, we presented the instructional budget and the first draft of the total budget with revenues.

The school budget planning process is underway. The Governor’s Executive Budget was released last month. Fairport is scheduled to receive a scant 1.47% increase in Foundation Aid, our largest funding source, or approximately $338,000. For comparative purposes, our 2017-18 budget is $127 million budget. Fairport Central School District will host a Community Group Budget Meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 17 at the Brooks Hill cafeteria at 7 p.m., with District administration, for community members to have an opportunity to engage in deeper discussions and provide input on the upcoming 2018-19 budget development process. The meeting is open to all District residents and school community members.
