• The Flight curriculum at the elementary level is designed to strictly meet the needs of the gifted learners.  Content offered incorporates opportunities to develop creative and critical thinking skills, focused on real world challenges and developing effective problem solving strategies.  Students are exposed to systems thinking, diverse resources, and high level technology.  Each week students participate in a STEM based learning activity, a unit of study, and students also explore a topic they have a particular interest in.  Matching students to interest areas is a powerful yet practical way of enhancing motivation and increasing the likelihood that students will be willing to express their own unique abilities and talents.

In 2016, the elementary Flight program began implementing Project Lead the Way.  PLTW provides a comprehensive approach to STEM education.  Students explore modules in Engineering, Biomedical Science, and Computer Science. Through activity-, project-, and problem-based curriculum, PLTW gives Flight students a chance to apply what they know, identify problems, find unique solutions, and lead their own learning.
