Dear Preschool Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to the new school year at Lincoln County R-III Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC). For many of our students, this is their first school experience and for others it marks the return to ECEC. The first day of preschool is full of mixed emotions for both parents and students. Rest assured that our staff will form a partnership with you to ensure that your child has the best possible school experience every day.

Currently at ECEC there are ten classrooms each having a diverse mix of students, ranging from special education to a variety of cultural backgrounds. This diversity provides an abundance of social interactions for your child in the preschool setting. Classrooms are supported by an exceptional, highly qualified staff that consists of administrators, administrative secretaries, teachers, paraprofessionals, therapists, nurse, a social worker, diagnostic staff, custodians, and maintenance crew.

The Early Childhood Education Center is dedicated to building a strong foundation for future success for all of our students.  Our students learn through hands-on, child-driven, age appropriate activities and are encouraged to investigate, imagine and use creativity. All classrooms are arranged to maximize student engagement with the use of learning centers, manipulatives, age-appropriate educational tools and technology. Children learn at their own pace while being challenged to develop growth in the areas of social/emotional skills, science, mathematics, literacy and physical skills. ECEC takes pride in providing a loving, engaging and safe environment where our students prepare for Kindergarten by becoming independent problem solvers and critical thinkers. Drawing upon student interest, each classroom utilizes play, thematic lessons, intervention strategies, modeling, individualized instruction and small group instruction. Assessments and observation are embedded in daily activities and lessons to ensure that accurate information is collected on each child during natural play and interactions.

Parents/guardians can expect clear and open communication from ECEC. You can look forward to school wide monthly newsletters, monthly classroom newsletters, parent teacher conferences each semester, emails, family fun nights, daily communication folders, quarterly objective based report cards, opportunities to volunteer and updates on our Facebook page.
