The January 10, 2022 Fairport Board of Education workshop has been moved from the Transportation Center to the LGI Room at Minerva DeLand. There are no Public Comments at workshop meetings. The workshop meeting begins at 5 p.m.

A Fairport High School senior has earned a chance to compete for one of the country’s top academic honors. Lucia Cardona (‘22) was nominated by New York State’s Education Commissioner Betty Rosa for the national Presidential Scholars Program. Rosa nominated 25 students from across the state in late December to compete for the national honor.

This week, the Board of Regents Chancellor Betty Rosa announced that all New York high school Regents exams scheduled for January will be canceled. No decisions have been made regarding the June and August 2022 administrations of Regents Examinations or any other State assessment programs.

The DOH encourages families to self-test for COVID immediately before any holiday gatherings with individuals outside of their household. The DOH has emphasized that the more home tests that get out into the community,
A classroom of Fairport High School (FHS) students had a chance to show off their engineering and coding skills and pick the brain of a NASA representative this week as they continue their work on projects for the NASA HUNCH class.

Fairport students in grades 9-12 hosted the first in-person ROC2Change Student Summit since COVID-19, with partners from RCSD School Without Walls and St. John Fisher College, with high school students from more than 30 high schools, Nov. 22 at SJFC.
This Fall 2021 ROC2Change Student Summit was organized and led by student planning committees with students from Fairport CSD (Minerva DeLand and Fairport High Schools) and School Without Walls.
Students at Northside Elementary School are practicing gratitude and the spirit of giving back this week as part of the school’s “Gratitude Week”. The Northside Student Council brainstormed a list of people who students are thankful for and assigned each group a day of the week. During the week, students at lunch are encouraged to write letters to the people in their lives in each group.
