NCHS Skills USA State Competition Summary
On Tuesday, April 18th, students left for the 3-day North Carolina SkillsUSA State Conference. At this conference, students have the opportunity to compete in various competitions involving leadership and skill knowledge. Day 1 includes Opening Ceremony, industry vendors, and contest orientations, Day 2 is competition day for each contest, and Day 3 is the Closing/Awards Ceremony. Blake Andrews was invited to the stage and placed 4th in the Architectural Drafting contest, Cameron Beaver was invited to the stage and placed 1st in the Technical Drafting contest, and Kyle Wood was invited to the stage and placed 1st in the Related Technical Math contest for the second year in a row. Placing first in a contest makes the student competitor eligible to participate in the SkillsUSA National Conference in late June at Atlanta, GA. Congratulations to these students for their work ethic, commitment, and accomplishments at the State Conference.
