Mrs. Ellen Machado

Welcome!

I am the Career Development Coordinator (CDC) at Northwest Cabarrus High School.  A big part of my role is to manage the Academy of Health Sciences (AOHS) at NCHS.  AOHS is a part of Program Choice and provides a wonderful opportunity for students who are especially interested in future careers in the health industry.  Students will follow a specific pathway that includes hands on, project-based learning rigorous classes to become a NAF Track graduate.  AOHS students will also be encouraged to complete an internship while in high school which will give them a distinct advantage upon graduation.  

In addition to being the Academy Coordinator, I have my Facilitating Career Development certification and will work with CTE teachers and students in a variety of work-based learning activities such as resume building, mock interviews, and professionalism in the workplace. I am excited to be a part of Trojan Nation and looking forward to working with students to make the most out of their high school career.

I have been a lifelong educator in NC; spending most of my time as a Marketing Education Teacher and DECA Advisor in several high schools in CCS as well as in CMS.  I am a proud graduate of Virginia Tech and am most proud of being the mom of my three incredible children.  I am married to another Machado on staff at NCHS, Rob Machado, our AD. I am passionate about education, reading, sports, and cooking.
