Ms. Kristen Masker

Hello! This is my first year at NCHS. I have been both a teacher and school counselor in all grade levels. I have 3 teenage daughters and a dog. I love coffee, music, reading, and being goofy with my family. I also love seasonal things like bonfires, corn mazes, listening to Christmas music in October, and sitting right next to my fireplace in my camping chair while watching a good movie.

As a school counselor, I love getting to know teenagers and how they tick. I like to challenge their thinking, and be challenged as well. I read a lot about brain and physiological development, social issues and the effects on teens and society, and narratives about the amazing things people have gone through. Reading about people's life experiences in first person is often highly interesting and deeply inspiring. My favorite books right now: Just Mercy and I Am a Girl from Africa. I challenge you to read them.

I am excited about this year and looking forward to getting to know you!
