Singing Opportunities
-
While it is a new experience, 6th graders are encouraged to participate in any opportunities that they can be involved with Chorus. Many of these events help in boosting confidence, adopting time management skills, learning how to prioritize, and much more. Below are events that 6th Grade Chorus members are eligible for. DATES WILL BE ADDED WHEN THEY ARE DETERMINED.
-
Every year, CCS middle schools host an All-County Chorus choir, that is comprised of the county's finest middle school singers.
6th grade students who are interested will audition to participate in this event, with Mr. Cornelius.

The North Carolina chapter of American Choral Director's Association hosts an event that is specifically catered to middle school choral programs. Similar to CCS All-County, students will travel to a centralized location within NC and participate in a two-day choral festival, where they will participate in a workshop with one of the country's finest choral conductors.
Students and families who choose to participate should anticipate paying a fee to aid in covering sheet music, travel accommodations, and transportation.

In addition, 6th grade singers are invited to perform a solo for the judge and receive an individual rating.
