Welcome Back Everyone!!

I am so excited for my 9th year at JN Fries Magnet school. This is my 26th year of teaching in NC. At JN Fries, I teach Reading Interventions, as well as, 8th grade ELA. In addition to teaching, I am also the Leadership Chair.

I have spent most of my career teaching English Language Arts and Social Studies. I am a NC native and a proud graduate of Western Carolina University. Go Cats!! While I have strong home roots, I love to travel. I have visited many countries. My  favorite adventure was my trip to Cairo, Egypt. I was able to visit one of the seven wonders of the world; the Pyramids at Giza. When I am not traveling around the world, I love playing with my puppy, Bentley, taking pictures of my hummingbirds, and/or gardening. 

I see this year as another grand adventure and I promise to guide you through with all the support I can give. I can’t wait to see how you change the world. I am excited to be a part of your learning.
