The purpose of 6th grade chorus is to introduce students to beginning-level concepts of ensemble and music theory/ear training. Expected student objectives are as follows: 

• Learning to match and maintain pitch through performance and recognizing fundamental techniques for appropriate singing.
• Recognize music notation through symbols.
• Illustrate, analyze, and identify skills and examples through movement, performance, composition, and much more.

Students in 6th Grade Chorus are enrolled for ONE SEMESTER, and are encouraged to continue their Chorus journey in 7th grade by signing up for Chorus at the end of 2nd semester.

To stay up-to-date and in-the-loop, parents and guardians are encouraged to create an Observer account on Canvas for their child's class. In addition, parents and guardians are also encouraged to activate their PowerSchool account to stay updated on their child's grades.
