Bondy and Simmons Receive State FFA Degree
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo., April 22, 2022 – Vanessa Bondy and Chase Simmons both of Unionville, Missouri, and members of the Putnam County FFA Chapter received the State FFA Degree, the highest degree members can receive at the state level.
These Putnam County FFA members were two of 893-degree recipients receiving the honor during the State FFA Degree Ceremony at the 94th Missouri FFA Convention, April 21-22, at the Hearnes Center on the University of Missouri Campus. Vanessa is the daughter of Clyde and Martine Bondy, and Chase is the son of Charlie and Kris Simmons. Her FFA Advisors are Randy Morris and Clyde Bondy.
Awarding of the degree is based on a member’s supervised agricultural experience program in agribusiness or production agriculture and leadership ability as demonstrated through involvement in FFA, school, and community activities. The State FFA Degree award charms are sponsored by MFA Inc., Columbia.
“The State FFA Degree is the highest recognition a state can award, representing a select group of members, who have achieved a high level of success,” said State FFA Advisor Keith Dietzschold. On the national level, Missouri has the second-largest number of American FFA Degree recipients of any state. In October 2021, 539 Missouri FFA members received the American FFA Degree.”
Now is the theme for this year’s Missouri FFA Convention.
The Missouri FFA has 25,626 members representing 353 chapters. The national organization has more than 735,000 members representing 8,817 chapters in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.
