Simmons selected as Area II FFA 1st Vice President
Area III FFA Officer interviews were held on April 6, 2022, at La Plata High School. These interviews are held each year to select the new Area III officers for the upcoming year. Ten new officers are selected every year to fill these positions from the 24 schools in Area III. Nineteen FFA members were interviewed, one of those being Junior, Chase Simmons, for the Putnam County FFA Chapter.
The selection process has 3 parts: An interview, an FFA Knowledge quiz, and scoring of each student's FFA leadership page. All candidates are interviewed one time in front of area delegates and advisors. Following the first round of interviews, the delegates and current area officers vote to help select the final ten who will get officer positions. After ranking all the students based on their knowledge, leadership, and interviews scores, the top ten are selected to be area officers. Those students then complete the second round of interviews to determine what office each student gets.
At the conclusion of the night, Chase Simmons was selected to be the Area III FFA 1st Vice President for the 2022-2023 school year. Chase is the son of Charlie and Kris Simmons of Unionville, Missouri. He will attend all area functions throughout next year and will be responsible for helping to organize and conduct Area III FFA activities. Also attending from Putnam County was previous Area III FFA Secretary, Vanessa Bondy; Delegates, Maddison Beals and Dylan Hamilton; and FFA Advisor Randy Morris.
