WHAT DOES A SCHOOL COUNSELOR DO?
An elementary school counselor works with every student in the building, not just with students having problems. The counseling program assists students in acquiring the skills and attitudes necessary to be successful learners and good citizens. A major focus of the elementary counseling program is on prevention and involves classroom counseling lessons based on the Missouri School Counseling Program. We cover lessons in: academics, social emotional learning, career exploration, and so much more!
