FCSD expands UPK for 2023-2024 school year

UPK Expanding

Fairport Central School District’s Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) program is expanding in time for the 2023-2024 school year!

With the support of the Board of Education, the District has increased capacity for its UPK programming to a total of 90 placements, 36 of which reserved for income and/or needs-based enrollment.

Dear Fairport community, 

The Fairport Board of Education approved the District’s proposed 2023-2024 school budget at its business meeting on April 18, 2023.

The 2023-2024 proposed budget is closely aligned to the Board of Education’s objectives and District goals for investing in our Future-Ready Raiders:

  • Prioritizing equitable access to:
    • Student-centered and whole child educational programming
    • Modern and safe facilities
    • Sustainable operations
  • Keeping long-term fiscal sustainability at the forefront of our budget process with a focus on:
    • Maintaining a strong financial position
    • Preserving the District’s strong bond rating
    • Managing District reserves relative to potential future General Fund costs associated with the expiration of Federal Stimulus dollars

Fairport Board of Education confirms Minerva and FHS merger for 2026-27 school year

The Fairport Board of Education (BOE) unanimously voted to approve a resolution that authorizes and directs the consolidation of Minerva DeLand into Fairport High School starting with the 2026-2027 school year. Students in fifth grade in 2023 will be the first to move directly to Fairport High School, while students in sixth grade in 2023 will be the final class of ninth-graders to attend Minerva DeLand.

Fairport’s 2023-2024 kindergarten registration begins in February

Children who will be five years old, on or before Dec. 1, 2023, are eligible to attend kindergarten for the 2022-23 school year at Fairport Central School District. The District is encouraging parents/guardians to register their child during Kindergarten Registration, which begins in February.

Parents will need to register at the school that their child will attend (see below for specific information for each school).

Erica Belois-Pacer approved as new Fairport Board of Education President

Congratulations to Erica Belois-Pacer for her appointment to the Presidency of the Fairport Board of Education.

At the January Board of Education Business Meeting, then-President Peter Forsgren announced his intention to step down from the Presidency of the Fairport BoE. The Board immediately nominated then-Vice President Erica Belois-Pacer to serve as the new President and Peter Forsgren to serve as Vice President.
