At the April 12 Board of Education meeting, the Board voted to adopt the proposed 2022-23 School Budget.
The 2022-23 proposed School Budget provides opportunities to build upon the district’s commitment to meet and exceed the community’s expectations for meaningful and developmentally appropriate programming for grades K-12. The $144,066,754 total budget equates to a 3.89% increase over last year’s budget, and is in compliance with the Property Tax Cap. The estimated tax rate is a projected $23.78 per $1,000 of assessed value, a 2.11% increase. The annual Budget Vote is on Tues., May 17, from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Johanna Perrin Middle School.
Items on the ballot for the May 17 vote include:
- The proposed 2022-23 budget ($144,066,754) and three FCSD propositions noted below.
- Proposition #1 – Authorization to Create and Fund a 2022 Capital Building Reserve Fund.
- Proposition #2 – Authorization to Appropriate and Expend $1,352,000 from the Capital Technology Reserve Fund 2005 and purchase information technology equipment and supplies.
- Proposition #3 – Authorization to Create and Fund a 2022 Capital Technology Reserve Fund.
- Proposition #1 – Authorization to Create and Fund a 2022 Capital Building Reserve Fund.
- The election of two Board of Education members
- Proposed 2022-23 Public Library budget
- One Public Library trustee
