The Board of Education of the Fairport Central School District will hold a public hearing at its regularly scheduled meeting on May 24 regarding a proposed partial property tax exemption for certain volunteer firefighters and ambulance workers.
The resolution before the Board calls for the implementation of a 10% real property tax exemption to volunteer firefighters and ambulance workers in the Town of Perinton who have served at least two years, and would go into effect in the 2023-2024 tax year. The partial property tax exemption was approved by a unanimous vote by the Perinton Town Board earlier this year, and the proposed tax exemption was discussed at the April Board of Education meeting as a re-investment into the Perinton community.
